A DETERMINATION to ensure Wibsey's Yorkshire Amateur League Premier Division match at home to Calverley beat the wet weather was rewarded with a thrilling 6-6 draw.

In the first half, the Bradford hosts were always in front before Calverley equalised in the 43rd minute to make the interval score 3-3.

Bottom club Wibsey went 4-3 ahead but Calverley again equalised before leading 5-4. Danny O'Donnell completed his hat-trick to level at 5-5 but a mistake from the Wibsey keeper saw the visitors go in front again.

For once lady luck did not desert Wibsey as O'Donnell struck again with two minutes left to ensure a share of the spoils.

Wibsey secretary Dave Preston said: "Absolute respect to both sets of players and the ref who all played their part in a proper game of football in strong winds and driving rain. I think all would probably agree that neither team deserved to lose and the draw was a fair result."

Striker Matty Wilson hit a hat-trick for Calverley, with Dale Spink (2) and Tom Westerman also on target.

Farsley Celtic Juniors lead the Premier Division by three points after a 5-0 win at Horsforth St Margarets.

Louis Surtees scored a goal in each half, while Ben Wilson, Joe Firth and 17-year-old Cameron Whalley were also on target.

St Bedes had keeper Daniel Tomlinson to thank for their point at Morley Town in a 0-0 draw in the Championship.

Tomlinson saved a first-half penalty and was in fine form throughout as depleted Bedes, who went into the game with eight defenders and no strikers to call upon, kept out the hosts.

Sam Marshall was man of the match for Bedes, who could have snatched victory but late chances went begging.

Fairbank United look in good shape in Division Two after a 2-1 win at home to Littletown Reserves.

That put them in fifth place but they could go even higher if they win their two games in hand.

The game was switched to the Zara Sports Centre in order to play on 3G. Fairbank benefited from the return of captain Billal Saleem, who along with new signing Kabir Hameed, helped keep the Littletown front line at bay.

A moment of magic from 18-year-old Abdullah Lone put the hosts ahead. Shoaib Hussain had a wonderful effort saved by the Littletown keeper but some poor defending allowed the visitors to restore parity.

Haris Khan was terrific as the commanding Fairbank keeper as the hosts bagged a late winner in the 89th minute.

A driving run from substitute Faris Hussain saw him square to Hussain Iqbal at the edge of the area. His brilliant first touch and shot found the far corner of the net.

Tyersal enjoyed an emphatic 8-3 win at home to Sandal Wanderers thanks to goals from Roger Pogson, Chris Gibbon, Jamie Sugden (2), Niall Armstrong, Curtis Howard, Rob Wood and Wayne Wright.

In the West Riding County FA Trophy third round, Idle progressed with a 2-0 win over Elland United.

Adam Medley opened the scoring for the hosts, using his pace and skill, before Jack Strudwick made it 2-0 with a superb free-kick. Marcus Strudwick pulled off some fine saves as Idle set up a home tie with Springhead United Reserves.

Athletico scored five times in their Marflitt Trophy second round game at home to Stanley United but still went out after a 6-5 defeat.

Mohammed Qasim (3), Muhammad Ikraaz and Adil Tanvir were on target for the hosts, who let a 4-1 lead slip.
