Bridlington Town 0 Thackley 4
THACKLEY turned in an excellent away performance to dent Bridlington Town’s promotion hopes with a deserved and comfortable victory.
The Dennyboys took an 11th-minute lead when James Ngoe headed home a good cross from skipper Paul Whiteley.
Brid keeper Tom Jackson was overworked but he made some good saves before Whiteley doubled the visitors’ lead in the 38th minute.
Thackley keeper Luke Wilson made his first real save late in the first half to allow the Dennyboys to take their two-goal lead into the break.
They stretched that lead just eight minutes into the second half when Dan Broadbent pivoted to net a stunning volley to convert an Alex Marsh cross.
They wrapped up the scoring inside the last 10 minutes when Jordan Hines slotted in following a counter attack as the home side pressed.
The victory took Thackley two places up the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division table to 15th and above local rivals Liversedge and Albion Sports on goal difference as they were both frustrated by postponements on a damp and dismal Saturday.
