BRIGHOUSE Town U21s defeated Leeds One Formation 5-1 at home in the West Riding County FA Invitational Cup.

The hosts started well with lots of possession but the final pass wasn’t always the correct decision.

Leeds had two very quick strikers so their tactic was to knock the ball long and over the Brighouse defence.

Town took the lead when Regan Metcalfe won the ball and delivered a good ball to the near post which was put away by Kaine Hall.

Brighouse went further in front when Ewan Gardener's shot from a corner was saved and Warren Hildred pounced to put the loose ball into the net.

In the second half Town continued to dominate but it was Leeds who scored next with a superb 30-yard shot which flew into the top corner.

Brighouse were reduced to 10 men when Hall received a red card for a bad challenge.

Brighouse changed their formation to 4-4-1, which saw them create more chances as Metcalfe, Brandon Thompson and substitute Lee Taylor completed the scoring.
