BRADFORD City Women will be looking to leave their recent league woes behind them as they kick off their SSE Women's FA Cup campaign with a trip to neighbours Huddersfield Town on Sunday.

City’s league form has been disappointing, and they are still looking for their first point of the season, but the Bantams have enjoyed two cup wins in recent weeks and will be hoping to replicate that this weekend against a strong Huddersfield side.

Town currently sit second in the Northern Premier Division of the FA Women's National League, three points behind runaway leaders Blackburn Rovers, who have two games in hand over the Terriers.

The game will see City come up against a number of old acquaintances - at least seven of the Town squad have formerly worn the claret and amber of Bradford.

In addition, coaches Lee Harrison and Steve Winterburn both spent time in the Bradford City dugout.

City are still without a number of long-term injured players, and will be waiting nervously on the fitness of experienced defender Jenny Clark, who picked up an injury pre-match at Fylde last Sunday but still made it through 61 minutes.

The Bantams will be lifted by the return to the squad of defender Zoe Roberts, who has been sidelined in recent weeks too.

Bradford City’s Development side play host to Middlesbrough at Rawdon Meadows.

The visitors sit two places above City in the table and crashed out of the cup to local rivals Newcastle United last weekend.

A heavily depleted Bantams side were on the end of a 15-0 defeat away to Boro in the opening game of the season, and coaches Jamie Grand and Luke Norris will be looking to avoid a similar scoreline this time around.

Off the field, the Bantams are delighted to have established a partnership with the University of Bradford’s Physiotherapy and Sport Rehabilitation Clinic, giving them access to the university’s facilities.

In addition, Rizzwana Khanom has come on board as matchday physio to their first team.

In a week of new appointments, the club have also welcomed Dan Nicol as goalkeeping coach following Jamie Sykes’ recent departure.

Meanwhile, Bradford (Park Avenue) entertain Brayton Belles at Horsfall Stadium as they hope to get their West Riding League campaign back on track.

Last week, Brayton were level 3-3 at the break, but Wetherby had a storming second half to win 8-3 and move up to fourth in the Premier Division, but only two points above Bradford.

In the First Division, Thackley travel to Ben Rhydding to play Ilkley, who lost 4-1 to leaders Ripon.

Tyersal are at home to Republica, who lost 4-0 at Dewsbury.

Division Two sees Phoenix and Thackley Reserves both at home, to Garforth Rangers and Durkar Devils respectively.
