JAKE Webster admitted he didn’t take much persuasion to join the Bulls.

The former New Zealand international’s vast experience is set to be a major factor in the club’s bid to make a strong return to the Championship next season.

With a CV featuring spells at Melbourne Storm and Gold Coast Titans in the NRL and Super League stints for Hull KR and Castleford, Webster brings a wealth of know-how to Odsal.

But the 35-year-old centre insists he is still getting that buzz from linking up with such an iconic team.

Webster said: “To be a part of the club I watched so much growing up is a fantastic opportunity and hopefully I can help the boys get off to a good start next season.

“I am blown away by the facilities here and the way the club is run. When I met John (Kear) for talks at Tong it was a very easy decision to make.”

Kear insists that Webster has not viewed his Bulls move as a chance to wind down his impressive career.

And the Aussie-born recruit believes he still has plenty to prove in helping restore the club to their former glories.

He added: “I am excited to get going. I already know a few of the lads who have helped me settle into the group and it is good to get stuck in now.

“There is a very talented group of younger players in this squad and to be coached by John is a very exciting prospect.

“The Betfred Championship is a new challenge for me but I am ready to do what it takes to help achieve as much success at the Bulls as I can.

“I am looking forward to running out in front of the supporters for the first time and hopefully I can show them what I am about.

“But I am eager to improve further as a part of this squad – there is more to come.”
