JY HITCHCOX is backing the Aussie invasion to underpin the Bulls’ Championship push.

The winger completed a full-time return to Odsal last month in a deal that ties him to the club for the next two seasons.

It means another reunion with Dane Chisholm, a long-term link that goes way back to their days playing local league in New South Wales with Mullumbimby Giants.

And Hitchcox will be playing alongside fellow new arrival Jake Webster, a partnership they built successfully at Castleford Tigers.

The former Super League Grand Finalist was a big hit during his two loan stints at the Bulls last season. He scored a hat-trick in the promotion-clinching win over Workington to take his tally to 21 tries for the season, including 11 in the last six games.

Hitchcox credits the close bond with Chisholm for sharpening up his performances.

He said: “It’s a strange one with Dane and I because we’ve followed each other throughout our careers.

“We haven’t really planned it that way but it’s just how it’s worked out. I think we bring the best out of each other and long may it continue.”

John Kear also sees the 29-year-old’s experience as another key factor in a squad that remains a fairly youthful one. Hitchcox is happy to help mentor his younger team-mates.

“Anywhere I can lend a hand with the young fellas, I’m happy to do so,” he added.

“I’ve had a chat with Ethan (Ryan) and Pickers (Brandon Pickersgill) and they’ve got massive careers ahead of them.

"I think they’re both really good talents and it’s great that Bradford can keep hold of them.

“I’m happy to be where I’m needed to be to get the job done. I’ll play wherever JK wants to put me.”

Meanwhile, Bulls' Championship fixtures for next season are due to be released tomorrow.
