WEST Bowling booked their place in the semi finals of the Bradford and District Senior Cup, winning 2-1 in a tense thriller against Olympic.

Bowling were ahead after just five minutes when leading scorer Joe Jagger bent a free kick around the wall and into the net via the post.

Both sides pushed forward for further goals, but the competitive spirit on show boiled over just before half time, and an Olympic player received his marching orders.

Olympic pressed for a second half equaliser but Bowling's keeper Ashley Onitiri and his defence stood firm.

Instead, it was Bowling who opened up Olympic's defence. Callum Wheatley hit the bar, before Kenny Tafireyi nutmegged a defender and found Paul Hague, whose shot went in off the post.

Steve Hollingworth pulled one back for Olympic with an overhead kick to give the Bowling defence some anxious moments but they held on to book their place in the last four.

Westwood Park also secured a place in the semis when they beat Bolton Woods 3-2 in an exciting contest.

In the Bradford & District Sunday Cup, Drop Kick United and Park FC drew 1-1 and it was the latter who held their nerve and won the shootout.
