FARSLEY Celtic moved up to third in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division after strolling to a 6-0 win over 10-man North Ferriby United.

The hosts were already one goal down when they had Ben Leyland sent off for a bad challenge midway through the first half. It left the basement boys with too big of a task and, although they closed ranks and made it difficult for the Celts up until the break, the visitors went nap in the second half.

North Ferriby had conceded a penalty in the 14th minute when Adam Clayton was fouled in the area as a corner kick was delivered. Ben Atkinson spotted the ball and sent home keeper Lewis Exall the wrong way to put Farsley ahead.

The Celts doubled their lead just two minutes after the interval when Will Hayhurst curled a free kick past Exall. The two-goal lead quickly became a four-goal lead as Jimmy Spencer bagged a rapid fire brace midway through they second half.

In the 65th minute, Nathan Cartman got onto the end of a ball over the home defence and he laid it back for Spencer. Just two minutes later a good move was ended with a ball into the area that Spencer lashed past Exall.

Having conceded a penalty and lost a man through ill-discipline Ferriby made it hat-trick of giveaways when Jack Smith scored an own goal. He got his head to a 72nd-minute free kick but only succeeded in turning it past Exall.

Farsley reached the half-dozen deep into stoppage time when substitute Luke Parkin converted a cross from the left wing.

Brighouse Town remained fourth in the east division despite being held to a 0-0 draw at home by relegation-threatened Wisbech Town who were second from bottom before the game but ended the day propping the table up.
