DEFENDING Division One champions Embassy Yeadon A are a mean machine so far this season in the Bradford Table Tennis League, and they recorded their fourth 10-0 home win in a row against poor Highdale A.

Highdale were sitting in third going into the clash but they had no answer here, suffering the same fate as the previous three visitors.

Embassy Yeadon's John Chew maintained his unbeaten record and now has 15 wins out of 15, Shahriar Masoudi has 17 out of 18 and Tim Dyson has 10 out of 12, as the ruthless champions continue to set a hot pace at the summit.

In Division Two, a great team effort saw Fastbats claim a narrow 6-4 victory over Baildon A, which takes them above Hermits E and out of the bottom two places.

Mick Craven took the opening set for Baildon against Keith Smith but Fastbats took the next five to put them in the driving seat, as Neil Foley and Helen Shields both won twice and Smith had a 3-0 win over Ian Warner.

Although Craven and Warner reduced the deficit to 5-3, Smith wrapped up victory for Fastbats in the last singles, coming from 2-0 down to beat Maurice Biott 11-6 in the fifth game.

Hermits H maintained their good start to the season in Division 3 with a 6-4 victory over Baildon B.

Norman Swift was unbeaten for Hermits, Michael Butler won two, and the pair combined to secure the points in the doubles.

John Atkinson won twice for Baildon, with Peter Warner and Steve Crossland winning one each.
