IT was a great week in the Bradford Table Tennis League for the three teams from Pudsey who all recorded important victories.

In Division One, Pudsey A managed their first win of the season at home to Hermits A as Les Baker produced a man of the match performance.

Hermits were ahead at half way as Richard Aitken won two and Fazal Hussain a single with Baker and Brian Birkbeck replying for Pudsey.

The home team then produced a burst of four in a row to claim victory, with Baker beating Louis Bigallet and Aitken to complete his treble. Birkbeck beat Hussain and Doug Bartle won the last singles against Bigallet to seal their first win.

In Division Two Pudsey B moved out of the bottom two places with a fine win at Baildon A.

The teams were level at 2-2 as Mick Craven and Peter Warner were on the mark for Baildon, with Adrian Worth and Doug Bartle replying for Pudsey.

As with the first team, Pudsey B produced a winning burst of four in a row to secure the points. Bartle led the way with a treble, Worth won two and Linda Sanderson pipped Maurice Biott 11-7 in the fifth game to get Pudsey over the winning line.

In Division Three Pudsey C maintained their unbeaten home record and moved into second place in the table with a fine win over previously unbeaten Hermits G.

Pudsey were behind early on as Terry Halliday and Martin Jackson won their opening singles but Sandra Rider led the Pudsey reply as they also won four in a row to lead 5-2.

Rider won all her three singles, Alex Waring took two and Steve Smith a single as Pudsey triumphed 7-3.
