KEIGHLEY RZM were presented with their record-breaking 10th Premiership title trophy at the Quaid E Azam Sunday League’s awards ceremony.
The club were presented with the prize by ceremony guest, Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Zafar Ali.
As a Keighley resident, the Lord Mayor was delighted with the achievement by arguably the best ever team in the history of league.
Among the winners were Diamond Cricket Club who displayed great character, discipline, and enthusiasm throughout the season.
Basharat Hussain, league president, praised their humble attitude and dedication as he presented Diamond’s skipper Shiraz Raja with the Section A League title and the 2018 Riaz Khan & Co Shield. Captain Shiraz Raja dedicated both titles to his team, for showing terrific teamwork and effort.
Chairman of Saltaire Cricket Club Simon Hicks (Guest of Honour) praised the great efforts of The Executive Committee, by acknowledging the multiple challenges the Committee need to face week in week out, the difficult and hard decisions which are required to be made and the long hours they have to invest, when situations & circumstances become time consuming.
Tim Grogan (Wakefield) was unanimously voted as the best umpire of the league.
He said: "I have umpired at a number of leagues, but the quality, the competitiveness and the exceptional standards of the QEASCL are arguably the best."
