IN A BATTLE of two unbeaten teams, Campion went top of the West Riding County FA Under-21 Development League after their 4-2 win at Tadcaster Albion i2i ISA (red).

Thomas Southern opened the scoring for Campion as early as the second minute but Tadcaster equalised.

Junayd Pandor netted just before half-time to restore the lead but Albion once again levelled. However, with 15 minutes to go, Campion went 3-2 up courtesy of an own goal and they sealed all three points when substitute Wayne Ndlovu came off the bench to score with two minutes left.

Thackley Under-21s drew 1-1 at Dennyfield against Tadcaster Albion i2i ISA (white). The hosts should have been three goals to the good in the first half but they failed to convert their chances.

Thackley's Jamie Underdown, who was making his return to playing after a serious injury last year, hit the post twice in the second period.

Thackley got their reward when they went in front following Alex Dunne's low cross which was fired into the top corner by Matthew Ingham.

Albion pulled level from a long free-kick which the Thackley goalkeeper Ollie Wright dropped.

Thackley boss Nathan Priestley said: "We played a high pressing game and showed a great work ethic from start to finish. We should have taken all three points but came away happy with the performance and the amount of chances we created."

Brighouse Town Under-21s had their match against Glasshoughton Welfare postponed because their opponents couldn’t raise a team.
