BRADFORD City Women welcome Hull City LFC to the Mitton Group Stadium tomorrow in the FA Women’s National League Northern Division.

Both sides come into the game following away defeats last weekend. Hull travelled to Guiseley where they were beaten 3-1.

The Tigresses took a third minute lead, but first half goals from Vixens’ Olivia Auker and Jodie Hunter were followed up by a second half strike by debutant Emma Samway.

City made the long journey to Oswestry near the Welsh border to take on The New Saints (TNS) LFC, with Bryony Hanson, Jade Brindle, Robyn Harris and Sian Wilson all made their debuts.

TNS started strongly on the 3G pitch and dominated the first half, going in 3-0 up after Emily Ridge's hat-trick.

The hosts stretched their lead further when Laura Morris scored a fourth in the 47th minute, and the same player completed the scoring late on, to set up a second round FAWNL Plate tie with Barnsley.

The Bantams are still hunting their first league win of the season, and will be looking to turn their fortunes around in their first home game for over a month.

They have already faced tomorrow's opponents this season, going down 2-1 at Hull University in the FAWNL Cup back in September.

Keegan Lambert’s goal was not enough as Hull ran out winners in a very physical game.

Tomorrow’s game will be the first FAWNL meeting between the two sides, after Hull were promoted from the Premier League Division One as champions last season.

Captain Harriet Jakeman is looking for a response from her young team, saying: “Sunday will be a very tough game. We need to be disciplined and strong in our positions and formation.

“We’ve worked hard this week to fix some issues from last Sunday. We need to bounce back and prove we aren’t a team that gives up goals so easily.”

The Bantams’ Development side are also at home this weekend, hosting third-placed Blackburn Rovers at Rawdon Meadows.

City’s second-string lost out to Huddersfield in an 11-goal thriller last weekend, and will be looking to keep up their scoring exploits, while shoring up their leaky defence.

Meanwhile, this weekend's West Riding Women's League programme is dominated by the League Cup.

Bradford (Park Avenue) play Leeds Medics and Dentists at Weetwood, a third meeting between the teams, after one win each in two entertaining League games.

Phoenix welcome higher-league opponents Republica Internationale to Laisteridge Lane, but will be feeling confident after Megan Medley (3) and Janna Abdalla scored against Thackley reserves without reply.

Silsden are hoping to do better than last week's 3-3 draw with opponents Brayton Belles at Keighley Road, and Thackley entertain Lower Hopton at Ainsbury Avenue.
