ALBION Sports were derby day winners at Thackley as they grabbed a three-point maximum thanks to goals from Alhassane Keita and Ombeni Ruhanduka.

Both clubs are struggling in the Northern Counties East Premier Division but the Dennyboys remain immediately above the drop zone despite their 2-0 defeat after a close game.

The home side had created chances but it was the visitors who were clinical. They had fewer openings but Keita broke the deadlock midway through the second half and Ruhanduka made the game safe with a little over 12 minutes remaining.

Eccleshill United were looking forward to their first home game for a month but it ended in a cruel defeat.

The Eagles hosted a Barton Town side who were just two places higher and three points better off. They doubled that points gap after Matt Plummer’s stoppage-time goal gave them a 1-0 win.

Liversedge’s tough run continued when they scored three at home against leaders Yorkshire Amateur but still ended on the losing side – having debutant San Holt sent off in the 72nd minute.

The score at the time of the straight red card was 3-3 after the Ammers had come from behind three times.

Sedge’s Brandon Kane opened the scoring from a 17th minute penalty and, although Ashley Flynn levelled, the home side led 2-1 at the break after Tom Brook had put them back in front.

Callum Charlton put the visitors back on terms but Sedge were ahead again when Rhys Davies netted. Fernando Moke made it 3-3 and two minutes after Holt’s departure Flynn bagged his brace. That was before Charlton claimed a double when he made it 5-3 late on.

Campion are marching on in Division One after they consolidated second place with a 4-2 home win over Nostell MW.

The Black and Reds had to come from a goal down twice inside a busy first half as a Robbie Graham penalty and a Calum Ward strike cancelled out goals from Nostell’s Jack Owen and Kane Reece.

Campion were ahead for the first time when Leon Hules-Brook scored in the 37th minute before Dan Cunningham netted in the last minute to put the gloss on their win.
