KEIGHLEY Cougars have made their second signing in two days with the capture of Luke Million.

Million, who has signed a one-year deal, arrives back in West Yorkshire following a spell in the French Elite One competition with Villeneuve Leopards.

The hooker started playing rugby league at a young age in the junior amateur game before being signed by Super League side Huddersfield Giants.

Playing in the youth system at the John Smith’s Stadium, Million was released aged 16 and was picked up by the Castleford Tigers.

Impressing at academy grade level for the Tigers, Million was given his chance in the first team by Daryl Powell in the pre-season campaign before the Wheldon Road clubs highly successful 2017 season.

Following his release from The Jungle, Million headed across the channel with team-mate Patrick Diskin to play a winter season in the French competition.

Million played a season with Villeneuve prior to returning home and having a trial period with Hunslet RL prior to signing with Keighley.

“Luke is a talented hooker with good pedigree,” said head coach Craig Lingard.

“He is one of a number of signings that me and Steve Gill have made going into this season that has come through a good system at Super League level but never got a chance at the top level and is looking to prove himself.

“As a hooker, he will be spending a lot of time with Buster and as myself and the fans have seen numerous times over the years, this will only bring Luke’s game on and make him a better player.

“I’m excited to be working with talented youngsters of Million’s calibre and hopefully as we continue to announce these signings the fans will get on board with us.”

He follows yesterday's announcement that half-back Jack Miller has joined the club.
