BRADFORD (Park Avenue) defeated Silsden 1-0 in a close West Riding County Women's Premier Division clash, with Bradford needing to keep up with the leaders and Silsden wanting to get off the bottom.

There were many chances but goalkeepers Vicky Barlow and Rebecca Seward kept it goalless at the break, before Kirsty Russell slotted in the only goal to leave Bradford in fourth, three points behind new leaders Leeds Medics and Dentists.

The Medics were 4-1 winners at Brighouse Athletic. Sarah Hemingway equalised for the hosts, but their opponents put in a strong effort to go top.

Thackley remain joint leaders of the First Division despite suffering a 3-0 home defeat. They were well beaten by Republica Internationale, who produced a solid performance to take the points.

In the Second Division, Thackley Reserves were 2-0 up at the interval, but Leeds United Development battled back well and scored a last-minute winner to steal victory.

Phoenix outplayed Farsley Celtic Juniors Reserves for much of their clash but a Lauren Rigby goal meant the two sides shared the spoils.

Finally, Farsley Juniors Firsts had a hard game at Lower Hopton in the West Riding County FA Cup. A Camille Clarke brace and two good saves from Sonia Penney kept them in the game, and a tense finish saw them go through 4-3.
