DEWSBURY B have made an impressive start in Division One of the Bradford League and they continued their unbeaten run with a fine 7-3 victory at a strong Heckmondwike team.

The visitors stamped their authority on proceedings by taking the first three singles, Phil Cawser beat Mark Land, Bill Grant overcame Freddie Osenton-Brown and Jack Grant won 3-1 over Heckmondwike number one Richard Lightowler.

Dewsbury did not let up and romped home. Jack Grant was unbeaten, Bill Grant won twice and Cawser scored a single as Dewsbury stay in second, just three points behind Embassy Yeadon A.

In Division Two, struggling Fastbats and Pudsey B were involved in a tight contest. Fastbats were 3-1 up as Neil Foley defeated Linda Sanderson and Adrian Worth, while Keith Smith also beat Worth.

Pudsey hit back as Doug Bartle took his three singles and Sanderson won a tense affair against Helen Shields to put them 4-3 ahead.

Fastbats roared back as Shields secured a narrow win over Worth and Smith beat Sanderson in the last singles. Shields and Smith then combined to take the doubles for a 6-4 Fastbats victory.

In Division Three, leaders Hermits F somehow maintained their unbeaten record in the clash with Hermits G. The G team led 5-2 as Terry Halliday and Martin Jackson both won twice.

The F team recovered as Peter Eccles won his three singles to maintain his unbeaten start to the season, while Glen Ellis beat Les Packer and joined Eccles to take the doubles to make it 5-5.
