HORSFORTH-based Yarnbury RFC are inviting people to attend the official launch of the latest Rugby365 artificial grass pitch at the club.

A weekend of activities will take place at Brownberrie Lane club on Saturday, November 3, and Sunday, November 4.

Rugby365 is part of the Rugby Football Union’s Rugby World Cup 2015 legacy of delivering over £50m investment in 100 artificial grass pitches across England over four years.

The new floodlit facility will allow sport to be played, all year round.

Bar and refreshments will be available on both days and entertainment will be provided on Saturday evening.

The official opening by club president and a RFU guest of honour will be held at noon on the Saturday, followed by a Yarnbury Veterans vs Invitation Veterans XV match at 12.30pm.

Then at 2.15pm, Yarnbury first team will play local rivals Old Leodensians in a Yorkshire Two league encounter.

That game will be followed at 4.15pm by a Baildon Girls under-15s match against opponent to be announced.

Then on Sunday, November 4, there will be a full schedule of junior rugby starting with four games running from 10am to 11am. These games will include Yarnbury and Aireborough under-7s, under-8s, under-9s and under-10s. Under-11 and under-12 sides from the same two teams will play at 11am to noon.

Yarnbury and Aireborough under-15s will square off at noon followed by a Yarnbury and Roundhegians under-16s match at 1am.

The weekend’s activites will conclude with Yarnbury Academy and Huddersfi eld Colts game at 2.30pm.
