FARSLEY Celtic Juniors remain firm favourites to take the Terry Marfitt Trophy, hammering Beeston Juniors Old Boys 13-0 as most of the Yorkshire Amateur League sides found themselves in weekend cup action.

Jack Strudwick netted twice, including a bicycle kick, after Lee Cookson had opened the scoring, to put Idle 3-0 in front.

Alwoodley used the strong winds to their advantage well and managed two goals from free-kicks played long to pull it back to 3-2 at the interval.

Idle had the wind in their favour in the second half and Callum Churm bagged from close range before Jack Strudwick completed his hat-trick.

Alwoodley added a third goal but it was too little too late. That win puts Idle second with 13 points from five games, three behind leaders Amaranth Crossgates but with a game in hand.

Finally, on a blustery day in Bradford, Horsforth St Margaret's Reserves were blown away by an impressive display from Fairbank, who emerged as 5-0 winners in their Division Two clash.
