JOHN Kear is giving Tuoyo Egodo every chance to make the Bulls’ play-off final against Workington.

The on-loan Castleford centre suffered a hamstring strain during the 47-0 win over Oldham to put his place in Sunday’s League One showpiece at Odsal in doubt.

But Kear is hoping England physio Matty Crowther can work his magic to get Egodo back in contention.

He said: “We came through last week’s game remarkably well. The only real one who there is a serious doubt about is Tuoyo.

“He came off with a hamstring problem but we’re quite at ease with his treatment.

“He’s at Castleford being treated by the England physio Matty Crowther.

“He’s in daily contact and I’m certain if anybody can get ‘T’ fit for such a game, then Matty can. We’re certainly not discounting him.”

Otherwise, the Bulls coach has a full roster to pick from as the squad prepare to put their bodies on the line for the promotion-defining clash.

“I don’t think they’ll feel any knocks,” added Kear. “They are all fully aware the light at the end of the tunnel is there for all to see.

“They are all striving to get there as quickly as possible.

“It’s a relief for us all to know that it’s a two-horse race. I felt the players coped with that a lot better than the opposition last week.

“It will be the same this Sunday. We’ve got expectations but so have Workington.

“We’re happy to enter any contest like that. The players are in a great place mentally and physically and we’re really looking forward to it.”

The losers on Sunday will still get one more crack at promotion with a one-off game against Swinton, who finished bottom of the Championship.

But Kear insisted that possibility is not on the Bulls’ agenda.

“It’s not crossed my mind at all. It’s total focus and concentration on the task in hand against Workington Town at Odsal on Sunday.”
