TALENTED teenager Jack Stanley competed at the 32nd International Junior Gymnastics Tournament in Cottbus, East Germany, at the weekend for Great Britain and won the Under-15s All Around Championship.

The Bradford gymnast also picked up individual gold on the rings, as well as a fine double silver, on the pommel and the parallel bars.

He completed an individual treble of podium places by gaining a bronze in the vault.

He only just missed out on the top three on the floor and in the high bar, coming fourth and fifth respectively in those events.

Jack's performances were a major factor in the Great Britain team retaining their team gold from 2017, with the Bradford youngster the only gymnast re-selected from last year to compete again in 2018.

He has now moved up to the next age group, where he will compete for another two years.

Jack is a Year 10 pupil at Immanuel College in Idle and is a member of the British Gymnastics Elite Performance Squad. He currently trains 27 hours per week at Leeds Gymnastics Club.

His personal coach is Dave Murray, director of performance at Leeds Gymnastics Club, who also coaches Nile Wilson.

Wilson, who comes from Pudsey, achieved bronze on the high bar at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro as well as winning two gold medals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow at the age of just 18.

Jack is already well on his way to emulating his fellow West Yorkshireman's success.
