HARD work will prove the solution to Bradford & Bingley’s problems, says head coach Anthony Posa.

The Bees, who are at leaders Morpeth tomorrow, have lost all three matches so far in North One East.

However, Posa, although he will want to eliminate his team’s erratic level of performance within matches, said: “We are getting better.

“We were 14 points down in under 10 minutes at home to Huddersfield YMCA last week but then went from 17-3 down to 29-17 in front and played terrifically.

“It was only when we got two yellow cards that they came back to 29-29, and then we missed three kicks at goal and they got a lucky bounce to get the winning try. Even YM afterwards said that we were unlucky.

“I am being a reactive coach at the moment rather than proactive, but we will get there via hard work.”

Likely absentees for their trip are Alex Keeton, Matt Cochrane and Dan Nota.

Cleckheaton lost 26-19 at Scarborough, but head coach Thiu Barnard said: “If we played in the first half like we did in the second half we would have won.

“We didn’t win a line-out in the first half and we didn’t lose one in the second half but missed one or two tries as well.”

Cleckheaton, who are back on the coast at Bridlington, have signed lock Josh Malkinson from Huddersfield.

“That will strengthen our second row and line-out,” said Barnard, who had to play 35 minutes himself last weekend.

However, they will be without flanker Josh Plunkett, who has a knee injury and is seeing a specialist this week, but otherwise are close to full strength.

Wibsey have been hit by weddings and are missing props Simon Birkbeck and John Bradbury for the home match against Leeds Medics & Dentists in Yorkshire Division Four.

Steve Brooke, Wibsey’s chairman, said: “You never know what to expect from Leeds Medics due to their student intake.”
