BULLS have signed winger David Foggin-Johnston from Hunslet for the 2019 season.

The former York City Knights winger caught the eye of John Kear when the sides met this campaign.

The head coach said: “He is an exciting young winger and he’ll be putting pressure on the more established ones. One of the reasons that we did look to sign him was when we played Hunslet, we thought he was a pest to tell you the truth.

“He carried the ball out of dummy half and he challenged you and we knew full well from playing in prep games and doing our preview of Hunslet that he can finish. He’s got some pace.

“He was one that you sat up and thought that this kid can play, and he can. He’ll get an opportunity next year to show all the fans at Odsal exactly how good he is."

Kear admitted the 22-year-old Warrington Wolves academy product, who has also had an impressive spell at Doncaster, had been on his radar for some time.

He said: “I first saw him playing in the academy at Warrington and our head of youth John Bastian worked with him over there. We know full well what he’ll bring and I’m sure the fans will appreciate what he’ll bring as well.

“He’s another exciting piece of the jigsaw that we are trying to piece together for this club to go onward and upward in a sustainable progression.”
