JOHN Kear will not take any selection risks in the Bulls’ final league game as they prepare for a likely shot at the play-offs.

Tuoyo Egodo and Gregg McNally are expected to miss the Odsal clash with Hemel.

And Kear is not planning to chance it with anyone else carrying knocks as he eyes the probable knock-out showdown with Oldham the following week.

There is also a reserve game at home to Halifax tomorrow as the coach looks to get his squad primed for the play-offs.

Kear said: “We’ll make sure with the Hemel game and the reserves tomorrow that everybody who is likely to be considered for the play-offs will play in one of them.

“That was the whole purpose of arranging the reserve game.

“There will be some changes (on Sunday). Anybody with bumps and bruises will be rested so that we are game-ready for the first weekend of the play-offs.

“We are in quite a healthy state but like any team at this stage there are bumps, bruises and knocks because of the very nature of the sport we play.”

Egodo is currently in the hands of parent club Castleford after his injury in the win at Oldham which left him on crutches.

Kear added: “Tuoyo is being treated at Castleford because obviously he is their player. We’re quite happy with that because Matty Crowther is the England physio.

“We’re more than happy that he’s being looked after there.

“He has got a knee and an ankle injury so he is looking very doubtful.

“It’s settling down but we’re hopeful he will be back for the play-offs.”

McNally remains sidelined but Kear has faith in Brandon Pickersgill to keep filling in if the full-back is not back in time.

“We don’t know with Gregg yet but he’s doubtful for this weekend,” said Kear.

“But obviously young Brandon Pickersgill has been fantastic.

“It is a miss but his deputy is not so bad so we’re quite comfortable with it.”
