AT Embsay, the home side let the retiring Scott Robinson down as they struggled to 123 in Division One of the Mewies Craven Cricket League.

Arslam Hussain (30) top scored as Richard Walker claimed a fine 6-25. Sam Solley (81no) and Dave Snowden (39) then put on 117 for the opening partnership in reply to set up Sutton's comfortable nine-wicket victory.

Meanwhile, Bingley Congs blew a golden opportunity to win the league, losing to Haworth Road when a win would have seen them pip Barrowford, who were out of action.

Barrowford travelled to Ingrow and found the ground unplayable after rain so the game was abandoned. Therefore, victory would have sealed the title for Congs.

The visiting Haworth Road side had not read the script as they convincingly won by six wickets. The hosts subsequently finished one point behind the champions.

Foulridge and Cowling comfortably won promotion from Division Two, but there was a thriller between Gargrave and Bradford & Bingley, who finished fourth and fifth respectively.

The former managed 118 after Ted Wilman struck 32 and they claimed victory by five runs after Paul Messenger took 3-24 in the second innings.

Charles Calvert (33) helped Cononley to 163-8 at Haworth Road II and the home side could only manage 139 in reply as Matthew Phillips (4-21) bowled expertly.

Finally, relegated Glusburn’s game with Chatburn was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Bradley were hammered by eight wickets at Crossflatts II, who nicked Division Three's second promotion spot from Riddlesden in the process.

The visitors were knocked over for just 63 and their opponents chased that down in only 12 overs.

Shahid Mahmood claimed 4-20 as Embsay II dismissed hosts Oakworth II for just 115. George Maloney (27) ensured Embsay strolled to a five-wicket win.

Eight-man hosts Thornton were no match for Skipton CI. They only made 128-7, with Steve Laycock (48) top scoring, as Rob Cockell (4-26) took the bowling honours.

In reply, Ian Henderson struck 78no to see the visitors to victory by nine wickets.

Sutton II earned their first home win of the season against Haworth II. The hosts only managed 114 but George Elrick (4-13) and George Blackwell (3-7) ran riot with the ball to dismiss the visitors for just 40.

The battle for second spot in Division Four between Foulridge II and Silsden went emphatically to the former by 76 runs.

Foulridge II scored 185-8 before dismissing Silsden for just 109, for whom Jack Roberts made 59. Both sides will be promoted though due to champions Chatburn leaving the league.

A youthful Cononley II only managed 101 at home to Oakworth III and were promptly beaten by six wickets.

Gargrave II were 85-6 chasing Denholme II's modest 112, but lost their last four wickets for only four runs.

Skipton CI II battled their way to 115-7 at Sandylands and visitors Bingley Congs III could only muster 59 in reply.

Finally, Bradley II conceded to Glusburn II and Cowling II v Ingrow II was abandoned.
