DUE to Bradford & District FA matches and other district cup ties, there were few matches in the Bradford Sunday Alliance League at the weekend.

However, what there were proved exciting.

For example, in a top-of-the-table Premier Division fixture at Crossflatts Village, two goals and the points were shared with leaders Station Athletic.

Craig Morris scored for the home team, and Paul Harrison replied in what was a closely-fought match.

In the only other top-flight clash, Oakenshaw beat Ventus Yeadon 4-2.

In the Championship Division, the only match that survived – between Prospect and Keighley Town – was also a thriller, with the teams sharing four goals and the points, with Tristian Innes and Jorden Farrell scoring for the home team.

Mark Consterdine bagged a hat-trick for Mill Lane in the Division Two fixture against Throstle Nest, with further goals coming from Daniel Softley, Lee Taylor, Kyle James and substitute George Duncan in a 7-0 romp.

In Division Three, Clayton Albion were two goals up in the first three minutes against White Hart.

The visitors then pulled one back before Albion hit another two in the second half.

Steve Wilkinson and Nicky Thornton gave the home side their swift lead, and then Wilkinson's second five minutes after half-time and a further strike by Gavin Meakin 15 minutes before the final whistle saw Albion home with ease.

In the first round of the Bradford & District FA Cup, Queensbury beat Low Moor 3-1, with man of the match and skipper Ross Mason bagging a brace and central midfielder Darren Fletcher scoring the other goal for Bury.

West Bowling beat Salts by the same score, with Bowling's goals coming from Paul Hellawell, Dillon Hollinger and Joe Jagger in the first half.

Bowling missed plenty of chances in the second half but could not add to their goals before the home team pulled one back before the end.
