BRADFORD (Park Avenue) Under-18s play the biggest match in their short Academy history tomorrow[Wednesday].

They face Harworth Colliery in the first qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup at Horsfall Stadium (7.45).

Avenue manager Alex Meechan said: "It's a big game and a great opportunity for scholars to pit their wits in this famous competition, and hopefully go as far as they can.

"This competition holds good memories for me as a YTS footballer on the start of the ladder.

"It shows how far we have come in the third year of the academy, and that the hard work is paying off.

"There are huge opportunities out there for budding footballers in and around Bradford to join this historical club's academy.

"Who wouldn't want the chance to play for BPA and also fulfill their education?"

Admission is £3 or £2 for concessions.

Avenue Under-19s began their new Northern Alliance League campaign with a 2-1 defeat at Shelley.

The visitors went behind when they lost the ball in midfield, and Shelley made it 2-0 following a corner.

Avenue pulled a goal back when Bradley Oliver went on a mazy run and passed the ball to Jordan Botwood, who chipped the Shelley goalkeeper.

Meechan said: "I was disappointed with the result. Overall, Shelley didn't have to play well to beat us.

"We can take a few positives from the match, including a good goal scored, and with players rested for tomorrow's FA Youth Cup we will come back stronger."

Campion Under-21s have gone top of the West Riding County FA Development League following their 2-1 win against Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Harry Brown opened the scoring for Campion with a fine shot into the corner of the net, following good work by Calvin Clavecillas.

Some good work on the wing by Dipo Olaosun then enabled Guy Bolton to increase their lead with a superb shot from 30 yards.

With ten minutes to go, Harrogate pulled a goal back with a breakaway goal.

However, Campion manager Steve Grime said: "We dominated the match throughout and should have scored at least five or six, but with Harrogate scoring late on, it made for a tense finish."

Liversedge Under-23s were thrashed 5-0 at home by Harrogate Town Under-19s in the Development League.
