BRIGHOUSE Town are riding high in second place in the Evo-Stik East Division and they have a good chance to go top with a home win over Pontefract Collieries tomorrow.

Aaron Martin is the league's joint top scorer with five, and he will be looking to add to his double in Brighouse's thrilling 3-3 draw with Pickering Town on Monday.

Their opponents Pontefract have won three of their opening five fixtures though, and they can move above Town with a win.

The Collieries take on Farsley Celtic in the first round of the West Riding County Cup and after a good start, the Celts have stumbled to just one point in their last three Evo-Stik Premier games.

They will hope to arrest that slump with a weekend home win over Mickleover Sports, who currently sit one place above them in 15th.

Liversedge are sixth in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division but they suffered a disappointing 2-1 home loss against mid-table Bottesford Town on Tuesday.

Joe Walton has been prolific in front of goal for Sedge and he will need to be on top form tomorrow too, as his side face a trip to a strong Penistone Church outfit.

Liversedge also slipped to a heavy 4-1 defeat at Hall Road Rangers last Saturday, and their conquerors visit Eccleshill United this weekend.

The Eagles have started well since promotion and will be looking for Anthony Brown, who hit a double against Goole AFC last weekend, to fire against a weak Rangers defence.

In the FA Vase Second Qualifying Round, Thackley host Carlisle City tomorrow, while there is a mouthwatering derby in prospect between Albion Sports and Hallmark Security League side Silsden.

The latter clash takes place at Throstle Nest on Sunday and the struggling hosts will have their work cut out against the Cobbydalers, who currently sit five points clear at the summit of the Premier Division.

Finally, Steeton visit north-east side Northallerton Town in the same competition. It will be their first game in this season's FA Vase, having received a bye in the previous round.
