DESPITE a disappointing end to the 2018 season, things are looking up ahead of the 2019 campaign at Cougar Park.

With the launch of the supporters' club among ground refurbishment and development, the continued hard work off the field will hope to be reflected on it come the start of next season.

The hard work being put in behind the scenes by both staff and volunteers at Cougar Park by members of Keighley Cougars and Steeton is being assisted by new club sponsor Height for Hire.

Height for Hire have supplied the club with a cherrypicker for the past fortnight which has been used to carry out much-needed repair work to replace and fix the floodlights at Cougar Park as well as fixing the stand lights in both the Terry Hollindrake and Danny Jones stands.

And despite the league structure still being up in the air ahead of tomorrow's crucial RFL meeting to vote on the structure for the forthcoming season, the club are still planning ahead for what they will hope is a better season after a turbulent 2018.

General manager Steve Gill, who celebrated his 59th birthday on Tuesday, and head coach Craig Lingard are working hard to get the squad in place to challenge at the right end of the third tier next season.

The club itself this week says it hopes to be in a position to announce new signings in the coming weeks.

Away from the first team, the club are continuing to work hard on both the reserves and women’s teams ahead of their respective 2019 seasons.

Open trials for the two teams will be taking place on Sunday, November 11, with women’s trials starting at 11am and the reserves trials following that afternoon at 2pm.

The reserves will be competing among a number of Super League and Championship sides in the Reserves Championship with the women’s team looking forward to life in the third tier after promotion to Championship One.

For more information on the trials, email either player performance manager Frank Levy on fl@keighley-cougars.direct or Joshua Chapman on joshctidchapman@gmail.com.

Bookings are also now being taken for the Keighley Cougars Executive Suite and Hall of Fame bars for parties, weddings, funeral and Christmas functions.

If you are interested in hiring out either bar, call the club on 01535 606044 or alternatively, email the club's events department at events@keighley-cougars.direct.
