THE West Riding County Cup first round draw has thrown up some fascinating ties, none more so than Thackley's trip to Steeton.

This season marks Steeton's first in the Hallmark Security League following their accession from the West Riding County Amateur ranks and they have made a good start, currently sitting eighth in the First Division North.

Thackley will be tough opposition though, as they sit a tier higher in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division. They sit in mid-table, after three draws in their opening five league games.

Elsewhere, a HSL Premier Division derby will take place as Barnoldswick Town host Silsden. The pair will consider themselves as title contenders, with the latter currently heading the division.

NCEL Premier Division side Liversedge will expect to win at home to Campion, who sit in the division below. Both sides have excelled on their travels though, with three away league wins each already.

Evo-Stik Premier Division side Farsley Celtic are the holders but they face a difficult opening tie at high-flying Pontefract Collieries, who are battling for promotion in the division below.

Pontefract will have their work cut out chasing down current leaders Brighouse Town though, and they should have little trouble in their first round tie at home to Garforth Town.

Elsewhere, Eccleshill United may be able to spring a surprise at Tadcaster Albion, who are second-bottom in the Evo-Stik East, while Albion Sports visit fellow NCEL strugglers Goole AFC.
