THE TABLES were turned when Championship visitors Wrose Bull knocked out Premier Division West Bowling 3-2 in a thrilling Bradford Sunday Alliance Senior Cup first-round clash.

Bowling took the lead early against the run of play through Wayne Sparks but Wrose Bull equalised when Chris Hawker's powerful strike from just inside the box found the target before the interval.

A long-range strike by John May put Bowling 2-1 up midway through the second half before Wrose finished the stronger of the two teams.

Hawker got his second, heading home from close range to level after great work from man of the match Andy Philip.

West Bowling hit the bar on three occasions as the game looked destined for penalties but Hawker had the last say, slotting home from the edge of the box in the 90th minute to get a deserved winner for Wrose Bull which completed his hat-trick with virtually the last kick.

Crossflatts Village went on the rampage in their first-round tie at home to Rattlers, netting an incredible 16 times without reply.

There may only be one division between the sides but the top flight hosts showed no mercy on their Championship visitors as Joshua Eastwood and Michael Garnett helped themselves to hat-tricks.

There was also a brace each for Ben Crispin, Matthew Bentham and Craig Morris.

In the only Bradford Sunday Alliance Premier Division game, two goals from Luke Hepton were mere consolation for Thornton United as they went down 7-2 at Westwood Park.

In the Amateur Cup, Black Swan fought back from three goals down against Park Avenue Juniors Old Boys to draw 4-4, with Rob Elliott equalising in the last minute of added time.

However, in a tense penalty shoot-out Avenue Juniors won 7-6 to progress.
