TOM Kohler-Cadmore’s 105 not out off 130 balls was the standout innings as Yorkshire were bowled out for 209 during the opening afternoon of their Specsavers County Championship match with Lancashire at Emerald Headingley.

Yorkshire advanced from 86-4 at lunch thanks in the main to Kohler-Cadmore and fifth-wicket partner Jonny Tattersall, who added 33.

They took the score from 33-4 with a stand of 105, to which Kohler-Cadmore contributed 70.

Unfortunately for Yorkshire, however, they lost four wickets for 39 to slip from 138-4 to 177-8, with Graham Onions claiming the first three in 13 balls.

He had Tattersall lbw playing to leg and Tim Bresnan and Matthew Waite caught behind, the latter down the leg side. Richard Gleeson then yorked Steve Patterson for 17.

Kohler-Cadmore imposed himself on Lancashire’s bowlers, often shuffling down the track to the seamers. He cut particularly well on the way to his second century in two games after his 106 at Nottinghamshire last week.

He reached his milestone off 121 balls with 16 fours and a six, by which time Yorkshire were nine wickets down as Gleeson had Jack Brooks caught at deep square-leg hooking to make it 187-9.

Kohler-Cadmore’s six was slog swept off South Africa left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj.

Gleeson wrapped up the innings by getting Ben Coad caught at backward point, finishing with three wickets alongside Tom Bailey. Onions returned four. There are 35 overs remaining in the day.
