IT is a question of how many points Bradford Bulls can rack up when they visit West Wales Raiders tomorrow, although their hosts should be applauded for battling in the face of adversity this season.

West Wales currently sit rock-bottom, having lost all 23 games in Betfred League One. They have conceded 1,792 points and suffered two world-record defeats to York City Knights.

They leaked well over 100 points in both of those games, with further huge losses coming at Oldham (102-6), Doncaster (102-6) and Bulls (124-0).

That 124-0 win for Bulls saw Dane Chisholm score 48 points, which was easily a record individual total for the club, and Elliot Minchella and Matt Garside both bagged a hat-trick of tries.

However, a couple of West Wales performances in the last two months have given them hope for a brighter future. They clung on to Hemel Stags all the way in London before going down 30-22 on July 29.

Three weeks ago they came agonisingly close to picking up points at home to Coventry Bears, a team who have had a quietly impressive second half of the season.

The West Midlands side had to fight hard to dispose of West Wales in Llanelli though. The scores were locked at 12-12 at the interval, before Coventry eventually inched to a 28-18 win.

Stand-off Luke Williams starred in both of those narrow defeats. He scored a try and kicked two goals at Hemel and was on target with all three of his conversions against Coventry.

Welsh international Steven Parry featured in last year's Rugby League World Cup and he showed his class with a brace against Coventry, crossing for a try in each half.

Full back Phil Cowburn is as likely as anyone to breach the Bulls defence tomorrow. He has scored tries against Coventry, Hemel, London Skolars and Newcastle Thunder since the start of June.

This is the first meeting between the two sides at West Wales' Stebonheath Park this season. After two convincing wins at Odsal in the league and the Challenge Cup, Bulls will be looking to go big again this weekend.
