JOHN Kear is ready to shuffle his Bulls pack this weekend to ensure everyone is potentially play-off ready.

A reserve game has also been arranged ahead of the final league fixture as Kear takes no risks for the promotion run-in.

As it stands, the Bulls face having to go up the long route unless leaders York City Knights come a cropper in the remaining three games.

That could change if the talked-about Championship restructure goes ahead after next Friday’s RFL vote and an extra promotion place is brought in.

But ahead of the expected points-fest at West Wales on Sunday, Kear is making sure all his players are primed for the prospect of the play-offs.

He said: “There might be one or two playing this week to get some game time under their belt.

“But what we’re endeavouring to do is make sure everybody is really tuned in to what we want to try to do with our structures, systems and game plan by keeping them all playing.

“We’ve got that reserve game in so that come the play-offs, should we be in them, we’ve got a full deck of cards to choose from.

“You tend to think by the number of league points we’ve racked up compared to the team in fifth, there’s an element of being unfair there (that the Bulls could be in the play-offs).

“But we knew the rules before we started out. Whatever the RFL decide, we’ll stick with that and play our way up.”

Jy Hitchcox is set to play the first game of his second loan spell and Callum Bustin is also pushing for a recall after recovering from injury.

Kear added: “He’s fit, ready, willing and able as is Jy Hitchcox. There might be some changes.

“One of the reasons Jy didn’t play last week was because you can only have five loan players in the 19.

“There will obviously be some shuffling of cards so that the loan players who didn’t feature last week will possibly do so this time.”

Dane Chisholm sat out the 54-4 derby win over Keighley Cougars as Kear took a look at Joe Keyes and Jordan Lilley as the half-back pairing.

But the Aussie is likely to come back into the reckoning on Sunday. He claimed a club record 48 points, including 20 conversions, when the Bulls thumped West Wales 124-0 four months ago.
