EMBSAY’S battle with Crossflatts on home territory went down to the wire in Division One of the Mewies Craven Cricket League as they won by a single wicket.

Sam Arkwright took 3-19 as Crossflatts were skittled for 121 but Embsay only snuck home by one wicket thanks to Elliot Stockton (36) and 12 from the last pair.

Sutton just failed to pull off a surprise victory at high-flying Oakworth. Dave Snowden scored 68 for the visitors but the hosts still scrambled home by two wickets.

Andrew Starkey claimed 5-44 for Cononley at Division Two leaders Foulridge. The hosts still managed to post 262 though and their opponents could only reply with 97.

Cowling posted 202-6 and Long Lee could only reply with 159, as Sajid Shafait (3-12) and Josh Gill (3-28) earned the bowling plaudits.

Airedale were narrow one-wicket winners over Glusburn. Their opponents mustered 152-7 and although Steve Brown (3-27) and Mark Pickles (3-40) bowled well in the reply, it was not quite enough.

Chasing 199-7, visitors Gargrave could only reply with 123 at Haworth Road II, despite John Beckwith scoring 65.

In Division Three, Thornton were dismissed for 140 at Riddlesden and their total was passed for the loss of just two wickets.

Embsay II visited Crossflatts II and racked up 186-5 before dismissing their opponents for just 153. Meanwhile, Skipton CI scored 158 before Matt Ryder (6-28) skittled Bingley Congs II for just 110.

Lowly Sutton II only made 83 at home to Oakworth II and their opponents proceeded to win easily by seven wickets.

Under-17 Frank Watkinson scored 89 for Bradley in their relegation battle with Haworth II but their opponents chased down 151 with three wickets in hand.

Cononley II's Paul Hogg took 7-36 against Foulridge II in Division Four but his side were hammered after being bowled out for just 25.

Silsden are third after thumping Oakworth III. Jack Lister's century helped them to 333-3 before Kieran Lawrence (8-9) ensured their opponents were dismissed for just 31.

Denholme II rattled up 272-7 at Bradley II, although their depleted opponents replied with a creditable 137-8.

Cowling II posted 278-7 in an easy win over Wilsden II and there was a low-scoring affair at Gargrave. Visitors Bingley Congs III were skittled for just 37 before Gargrave struggled to victory with 39-6.

Glusburn II could only muster 62 at Airedale II and lost by six wickets. Finally, Ingrow II hammered Skipton CI II by 184 runs.
