ALBION Sports' FA Cup dream ended on Wednesday night with a 4-0 thrashing at Guisborough Town.

The sides were replaying their Preliminary Round tie after a 2-2 draw last weekend and Town wasted no time at all in making home advantage count.

Joe Ferguson put the north east side ahead after only four minutes and that was how the score remained at the break.

However a disastrous couple of minutes for Albion midway through the second half killed the contest. Ferguson added his second on 68 minutes before Ash Lavan quickly made it three.

Lavan was sent off a minute later but it did not matter and Ferguson completed his hat-trick with an injury-time penalty.

Defeat means that Albion will not get the chance to host their landlords in the next round on September 8, and Farsley Celtic will now have to travel to the North East instead.

The Celts have an Evo-Stik Premier Division away game to worry about first though, as they visit Basford United on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Brighouse Town travel to Carlton Town in the Evo-Stik East, looking to pick up their first away win of the season.

In the Toolstation Northern Counties East League, Albion Sports host Hemsworth Miners Welfare but the other three Premier Division sides all have FA Vase First Round Qualifying ties.

Thackley welcome Thornaby, Eccleshill United are at home to Hebburn, while Liversedge face a trip to Cheshire to play Winsford United.

Sedge may want to ask Silsden for advice, as they faced Winsford last weekend and emerged with a comfortable 4-2 win.

The newly-promoted Hallmark Security League side are going well in the Premier Division but they also take a break for FA Vase action, as they visit Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Elsewhere, Campion will hope to take their good NCEL Division One form into the FA Vase, with a win at Billingham Town.

Finally, in the HSL Division One North, Steeton could move into the top four with an away victory over Bacup Borough.
