DAVID Willey and Jack Brooks have struck again during the opening afternoon against Somerset at Emerald Headingley.

The start of this Specsavers County Championship match has been evenly contested, with the visitors reaching tea at 205-4 from 64 overs.

Willey and Brooks claimed a wicket apiece this morning after electing to bowl and have done so again in the afternoon.

James Hildreth (81) and Pakistani Azhar Ali, unbeaten on 82, have both posted fifties.

Hildreth fell when he was caught at first slip off Willey, leaving the score at 142-3 in the 41st and breaking a 137 partnership between Hildreth and Azhar as they recovered from 5-2.

Brooks then had captain Tom Abell caught behind for 12, making it 170-4 in the 55th over.

Azhar reached a patient fifty off 118 balls in between the two wickets.

He will have Steve Davies for company unbeaten on 15.
