ALBION Sports will get a second bite of the cherry as their preliminary round tie at home against Guisborough Town ended all square, but Brighouse Town and Liversedge are out of the Emirates FA Cup.

Sedge tumbled out after suffering their heaviest ever defeat, going down 10-1 at Evo-Stik Division One East outfit Frickley Athletic.

Remarkably it was Liversedge who broke the deadlock as Roy Fogarty put the visitors ahead.

Frickley drew level from the penalty spot when Tyler Walton was fouled, with the forward taking the penalty himself.

The home side were in front in the 18th minute when Bradford-born Jacob Hazel – son of former professional Des – netted the first of his treble, and they led 3-1 at the break after Danny Palmer’s 31st-minute strike.

Palmer and Jack Burton added goals just minutes into the second half before Burton and Hazel went on to bag a brace apiece.

Three goals inside the final three minutes saw the home side into double figures, with Walton bagging his double.

Sam Liversedge netted the penultimate goal, and Hazel – who began the rout – wrapped up the scoring.

Albion were held to a 2-2 home draw by Northern League outfit Guisborough Town, with the home side ending with ten men after keeper George Clark was red carded late on for handling outside his area.

The Lions had taken an early lead, with Paul Begsley opening the scoring in the second minute, but the tie was level at the break after Nathan Steel hit a 35th-minute equaliser.

Jamal Stewart put the Lions back in front early in the second half but Guisborough forced the replay with an 87th-minute strike against the ten men of Albion after Clark’s sending off.

The club’s will meet on Wednesday at Guisborough’s King George V Ground.

Brighouse were knocked out by a club from two rungs below on the non-league ladder.

Town, league counterparts of Frickley, lost 2-0 at home against Parkgate from a division below Sedge and Albion in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League.

First-half goals from Tim Whittaker and Elliott Simpson proved to be enough to see off Town, who are back in league action tomorrow as they host newly-formed local rivals Ossett United.

Farsley Celtic are also back in action after their Saturday fixture in the Evo-Stik Premier Division was shelved.

The Celts should have travelled to Hyde United but they had an FA Cup tie.

Tomorrow Farsley host Hednesford Town.
