FIVE members of the Bradford Bulls Women’s squad have been called up to the inaugural women’s Super League Origin game, which takes place at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington on Sunday, September 2

The RFL have created the competition as the World Cup in 2021 heads closer, with Bulls being keen to play a part in hosting the spectacular event.

The Origin game is a way of attempting to recreate international competition, which is vital to develop elite level players.

Delighted with his side's representation, Bulls head coach Mark Prescott said: "Jess Courtman, Amy Hardcastle, Savannah Andrade, Paige Costello and Shona Hoyle have all been called up to the squad.

“It’s great to see the five girls who are all part of the National Development Squad selected to play for Yorkshire in the Origin game.

“For Amy, Jess and Shona, representative rugby is nothing new, having played in the last World Cup out in Australia. Paige also represented the Students in the Associations Cup while she was playing at Thatto Heath, before her recent return to Bradford.

"For Savannah, this is the next step in her development, playing representative Rugby League for the first time and it's an opportunity she fully deserves.

"Well done to all of the girls on their selection. We’ll be out in force to support them and see how they get on.”
