BRIGHOUSE Town Under-21s gave their best performance of their pre-season so far, winning 3-2 at Ossett United.
The hosts were older and more experienced, but were outplayed in most areas of the field and found it difficult to combat Town's pressing game.
Finn Donovan opening the scoring with a well-taken 25-yard shot but, in general, Town failed to convert their chances and United equalised.
However, the visitors continued to dominate midfield, and went ahead again just before half-time via Warren Hildred. Town, for whom centre half Ewan Gardiner was outstanding, changed their midfield at the interval, but still held sway.
Ossett, who were bigger and stronger, posed a threat from set-pieces and scored a scrappy goal to make it 2-2, but Town upped the tempo and got a winner from Musa Faye at the end of a good team move.
