BRADFORD (Park Avenue) picked up their third win in four games as they beat Spennymoor Town 1-0 at Horsfall tonight.

Ben McKenna fired Avenue into the lead after meeting an Oli Johnson cross on 26 minutes - and that proved enough.

Keeper Steve Drench thwarted former Avenue loanee Rob Atkinson, saving his header early in the second half.

As the clock ticked down, Avenue were denied twice in two minutes by the woodwork as McKenna and Conor Branson both hit the post.

But Mark Bower’s men did enough for the three points in National League North.

In the same division, Guiseley did well to pick up a point in a 1-1 draw at Stockport.

The Lions took the lead after 22 minutes when Curtis Morrison drove into the box before crossing to Kaine Felix, who spun and finished from close range.

Sam Walker equalised for the hosts 15 minutes into the second half after drilling home a low free-kick from the edge of the area.

Josh Askew hit the post as Stockport got on top but Guiseley held on.
