REPRESENTING West Yorkshire, Keighley Under-19s won the Vitality T20 County Cup finals.

Keighley’s semi-final opponents were Cleethorpes; Keighley’s captain Louis Horsfield elected to bat in what was to be a reduced 15 overs per innings tournament.

Horsfield and Nathan Storton got stuck into the opposition's bowling attack, Horsfield scoring 44 not out and Storton an impressive 77no from just 51 deliveries as Keighley posted 128-1.

Cleethorpes lost two early wickets but J Cook was the anchor of the Cleethorpes innings, scoring 76 in 49 deliveries.

However, despite this, Keighley’s all-round general performance in the field helped to restrict the other batsmen and Cleethorpes innings ended 11 runs short of victory, finishing on 118-4 and Keighley progressed to the final.

Keighley’s final opponents were Driffield and the Lawkholme Laners, fielding first got off to a dream start reducing their opponents to 1-5 wickets, thanks to destructive bowling from Joe Hall (2-6) and James Rogers (3-15). Driffield’s batsmen never recovered and hobbled to 63-9 in their allotted 15 overs.

Keighley fell into this trap losing several early wickets, until a timely 15 not out from Hall saw his side to victory with nearly two overs to spare.
