JOHN Kear has full faith in Jordan Lilley to steer the Bulls back to winning ways at London Skolars tomorrow.

The Leeds half back is set for the first appearance of his second spell at the club as Kear’s side look to respond to the York loss.

With Joe Keyes ruled out through concussion, Lilley will partner Dane Chisholm for the first of eight “must-win” games left in the League One promotion campaign.

Lilley, who has signed until the end of next season, has been with the Bulls for 10 days already and Kear is expecting a seamless transition in the capital.

He said: “I’m pretty confident Jordan has got a pretty good handle on where we’re at and what we’re after doing.

“I wouldn’t have any hesitation in putting him straight in the team.”

Last week’s game at Odsal was halted for around eight minutes while Keyes was treated on the field after staying down in a challenge with York’s Joe Batchelor.

But the Ireland international has recovered well and will just sit out the trip to his former loan club as a precaution because of the RFL’s concussion rules.

Kear added: “Everything is fine. He’s passed everything he needs to with the protocol that’s necessary to get him back on the field of play.

“But obviously it’s an eight-day time frame (before he is allowed to return to action).

“It was a worry when he was down but you’ve got to be right with regard to Joe and his long-term health and welfare. That’s what we are endeavouring to do.

“Thankfully there’s been no problem and obviously it’s just going through the return-to-play protocol.”

Club skipper Lee Smith remains out of the Bulls plans for the time being.

Talk of him featuring last week against title rivals York was pre-match mind games and he remains on the sidelines.

Kear admits the Bulls could have done with his big-game nous against the Knights.

He said: “One of the ways York got us was with their experience.

“People like (Tim) Spears, (Graham) Horne and (Ben) Cockayne were three of their better players. It’s no coincidence that they are the three most experienced ones.

“But Lee’s obviously struggling with his Achilles injury and we just can’t get him on the field at the minute.”

l WITH the first team in action at London Skolars today, Bradford Bulls fans can still get their afternoon rugby league fix at Odsal.

Yorkshire are meeting Lancashire in an Academy War of the Roses clash (2.30).

Bulls season-ticket holders can get free entry, but otherwise it is £3 for adults and £1 for children.
