A YOUNG assistant referee has made a full recovery after she collapsed during last night's abandoned friendly between Campion and Knaresborough Town.

With the score 4-3 to visitors Knaresborough around 20 minutes into the second half, Emma Taylor began to feel unwell before collapsing.

An ambulance and rapid response team were quickly on the scene to assist Taylor. Fortunately, she made a full recovery after the scare and was eventually able to walk around unaided without needing to go to hospital.

It was the second time in three days that Campion had seen a pre-season friendly abandoned part way through.

They were 2-1 behind at home to Bradford (Park Avenue) with eight minutes remaining on Saturday when the away side lost Lewis Johnson to a bad injury, causing the game to be curtailed early.

Johnson was later confirmed to have suffered "significant ankle ligament damage" in an Avenue club statement.

Regarding last night's match, plenty was crammed into the 65 minutes that were played. Omar Habeeb scored twice for the hosts, once with a free header and then when he broke through the Karesborough offside trap.

Town had been leading 3-1, but Habeeb's second and Christopher Ovington's strike made it 3-3 after 40 minutes. The visitors immediately went back in front and there was no further scoring before the abandonment.
