BRADFORD motorcycle rider Dean Harrison enjoyed more success at the Southern 100 road races on the Isle of Man but the event was marred by tragedy.
Harrison won four races to take his overall tally of wins there to 17 but Driffield competitor James Cowton was killed in a four-rider accident in the 600cc Challenge race.
Organisers also reported that Lincolnshire’s Ivan Lintin was in a critical condition, while Jamie Coward has shoulder injuries and Mickey Evans leg and arm injuries.
Harrison, who won his second race at the Isle of Man TT Races last month, claimed a quadruple at the Billown Circuit.
The Silicone Engineering Racing Kawasaki rider’s victory in the Solo Championship saw him become the first rider since Guy Martin in 2015 to retain the crown.
Harrison defended his title by a near nine-second margin and also claimed wins in the SuperSport, Senior and Superbike races.
