TWO former Bantams are on the move with Alex Gilliead signing for Shrewsbury and Reece Burke joining Hull City.

Gilliead, who left City after 18 months on loan at the end of last season, has penned a two-year deal at the Shrews, who lost to Rotherham in the League One play-off final.

The winger joins on a free transfer from Newcastle United, having been with the club since the age of 16.

He said: “I’m 22 and I’ve still got a lot to learn and a lot to improve on so I feel under the manager and with the lads I will be able to improve and bring something to the team.

“I was at Bradford last season and I have had two other loans before that so I have had my fair share of games so I know what the demands are.

“I just want to come and do well and show what can do.”

Meanwhile, Burke has joined Championship club Hull in a three-year deal from West Ham reported to be worth in the region of £1.5million.

The centre half spent the majority of the last two seasons in the Championship on loan with Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers respectively, having won the player of the year award during a season-long loan with the Bantams in 2015/16.

Burke, aged 21, also made 15 senior appearances for the Hammers after progressing through the youth ranks.
