DIVISION One leaders Bingley Congs have suffered their first defeat of the season in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League.

The Beckfoot Lane side posted 176 at Haworth Road Meths, with Danny Pearson (43) and Andy Copping (39) being the best batters as Deepal Dissanayake finished with 4-60.

The latter then scored 49 to go with Muhammad Zahid (46) as the Baildon Bottom side strode to a five-wicket victory.

Second-placed Barrowford rattled up 334-7, with Aziz Iqbal making 149 (33 fours, one six) and Freddie Bailey (69no) leading the way, with 37 extras also helping the cause.

Will Rankin finished with 4-74 before visitors Ingrow replied with a creditable 223, with Jake Hoyle (53), Ben Weatherall (45 and Rankin (44) being in the runs as Karim Khan (3-24) was the best bowler.

Oakworth are third, despite their six-wicket defeat by Denholme at Cure Hill.

Rob Hollingsworth (44) and Ben Howell (29) were the leading scorers as Matt Wear (4-37), Toby Priestley (3-11) and Ryan Judson (3-37) shared the wickets.

The visitors then stormed home, led by Ronnie Chokununga, whose 67 not out contained seven fours and four sixes, and Isaac Murray (36).

Haworth's trip to Ryshworth Park was very fruitless.

The gave a lacklustre batting performance to be castled for just 93 as Alex Bradley (4-12) and Wasim Hussain (3-16) got among the wickets.

Crossflatts cantered home by six wickets, with Ben Hinchcliffe making 41 not out.

Dave Snowden took advantage of several lives to score 75 not out as Sutton amassed 183-9 at home to Embsay.

Sam Solley also made 30 as Caspar Bean took 4-37.

Moshin Saghir (50 and Elliot Stockton (39) were the main contributors as the Shires Lane side won by five wickets.

The battle of the bottom two, Hepworth & Idle and Wilsden, went the way of the latter by 39 runs.

The Windy Grove side made 242-7, with Chris Longley (103) and Dipesh Mistry (56no) putting on 90 for the sixth wicket.

The Westfield Lane side replied with 206.

In Division Two, Cononley were in sparkling form when they entertained Haworth Road Meths II.

The South Craven side smashed 371-2, with Herbie Starkey scoring a formidable 185 not out and Cameron Knowles a superb 103 not out to go with skipper Andrew Starkey's 53.

The two centurions put on 205 for the third wicket, and the Baildon Bottom side replied with what would usually be a winning score (284-8) – but not this time.

Ian Robson (77), Waj Mahmood (72) and Charlie Hainsworth (47) were the main scorers.

Leaders Airedale were up the hill at Long Lee and found the hosts in fine fettle as they rattled up 307-9, with Shahbaz Ahmed (86), Matty Stowell (71) and Paul Stowell (64) to the fore as Chris Gill took 3-68.

The Bradford Road side made 202 in reply thanks to Simon Hunter (57) and Mohammed Qadeer Hanif (44) as Ian Roberts (3-29) was the best bowler.

Cowling took advantage of the leaders' slip up to take over at the top after a four-wicket victory over Eldwick & Gilstead at The Coliseum.

The visitors were restricted to 124 of which Mark Roach made 37 as Will Bowden claimed 4-27.

The latter then made 38 not out to go with Mark Adams (40) to get the hosts over the line.

Foulridge stay third, despite falling by seven wickets to Sandy Lane at Noyna.

The home side could only muster 105, with No 9 Ummar Farooq making 23 as Hamid Ullah finished with 5-47. Mukhtar Shah (61no) then played a big part in the Greenwood Park side's comprehensive victory.

At Skipton Road, Gargrave were dismissed for 128, with George Beckwith (40) taking the batting honours and Andy Dobson (5-19) the bowling.

Visitors Bradford & Bingley III then cruised home by eight wickets, with Will Johnston (63no) and Shahbaz Ahmed (50no) putting on 115 unbroken for the third wicket.

Bottom side Chatburn recorded their first win of the season at home to Glusburn.

Mark Nerenberg (67) and Neil Cartledge (40) helped the Ribble Valley side to 170, with Mohammed Furqan (3-30) and Azxhar Iqbal (3-40) being the bowling stars.

The latter then top-scored with 29 not out as the Park Field side replied with 123-9 in their 45 overs, with Stephen Booth (4-22) doing the most damage.

Compared to the top two divisions, 179 was the highest score in Division Three.

That was posted by Hepworth & Idle II at Beckfoot Lane, with Sean McEvoy (45) and Gary Orrell (41) the top scorers, despite a super bowling performance by Steve Broughton (7-31).

Leaders Bingley Congs II then slumped to 71 all out in the face of a fantastic piece of bowling by Owen Price, who finished with 8-17 off just seven overs.

The next two in the table, Riddlesden and Barrowford II, met at Grange Road, with the hosts coming off second best and thus suffering their first defeat of the season.

'Mr Extras' (22) was the top scorer in the home side's 91 as Andy Making claimed 6-37.

The Bull Holme side then romped it by seven wickets in 20.5 overs to take over at the top.

Crossflatts II are handily placed in fourth after beating Bradley by six wickets at Matthew Lane.

The home side made 154-9, with Chris Kimberley (50) and Mick Bailey (3-30) being the best performers.

Bailey (49no) and Jonathan Gath (41no) then put on 80 for the fifth wicket as victory was completed.

Oakworth II travelled to Shires Lane and made 153, with Michael Scarborough hitting 60 as Andy Hodgson (3-30) and Dominic Kay (3-42) took the bowling plaudits.

Embsay got home by six wickets thanks to Brian Hodgson (62no), George Arkwright (34no) and Kay (33).

Sutton managed 116 at Haworth, with Tony Walton making 30 and Anthony Haigh taking 3-22.

In reply, Tom Duffin (39no) and Oliver Bishop (22no) put together a match-winning stand of 59 for the sixth wicket.

Thornton-in-Craven visited Skipton CI and won by 81 runs.

The Booth Bridge Laners made 169-6, with Kevin Pollard scoring 49 and Sam Smith taking 3-37.

The Sandylands side had No 10 Connors Hall Brown (20) to thank for getting them to 88 as Phil Oldfield claimed 5-29.

In Division Four, the eagerly-anticipated clash between leaders Silsden and Foulridge II went the way of the latter by an emphatic 209 runs.

The Noyna side walloped 326-7, with Zaheer Abbas making a stunning 146 (14 fours, eight sixes), Irfan Khaliq 45 not out and Quasim Dar 43 not out as a talented young bowling attack was muted for once.

The Keighley Road side replied with a modest 117, with Jack Roberts (24) top-scoring as Tamoor Mushtaq took 3-24.

Chatburn are just a point behind the leaders.

They travelled to Airedale II and dismissed the hosts for 142, with Warren Coppack making 42 and Harris Holgate taking 5-34.

Dan Holmes (61) and Darren Gupta (40) helped the Ribble Valley side over the line with seven wickets left.

Long Lee's Jack Kennedy (4-14) and Luis Spragg (3-22) had Glusburn II back in the hut for 99 at Park Field.

The Keighley side sauntered home by seven wickets to lift themselves off the bottom of the table.

Ingrow's Adrian Weatherall (36) top-scored as they posted 103 at home to Skipton CI II, with Matt Ryder (5-34) and John Stuttard (4-41) doing most of the damage.

Ryder then top-scored as the visitors battled over the line by three wickets.

Bingley Congs III made 187-8 at Greenwood Park, with James Farrell (52) and Asher Nutting (48no) leading the way.

However, visitors Cowling were equal to the challenge and romped home by seven wickets, led by Shahid Khoktar (62) and Yasser Chatta (30).

Under-14 player Subhan Ahmed made a sparkling 87 not out and skipper Keith Gilert (44) as Oakworth III made 212-7 on Penistone Hill.

Visitors Cononley replied with 203, with David Phillips (72) and Peter Hatton (38) being the best batters as another under-14 player Ellis Brown bowled well to finish with 4-43.

Meanwhile, Wilsden II were too good for Gargrave II at Windy Grove.

The Skipton Road side managed 111-6 in their innings, and the hosts galloped home by eight wickets in 19.3 overs, thanks to a 36-ball 83 not out from Ben Reynard, which included 13 fours and three sixes.
