But, as a top-eight finisher, Billy is not the only club member to qualify for the National Development Plan finals in Nottingham next month.

Robert Taylor-Smith will also be representing the white rose, having finished sixth at Level Six in the men's 15-16 years' category with a score of 51.500.

Bradford Olympian's other four entrants did not qualify for Nottingham, but also performed well.

Evie Ingram was 11th in Level Two with 48.900, Dexter Clarke-Dunn was 14th in Level Five with 46.200, Harrison Holmes scored 47.700 to be 17th in Level Four, and Olivia Wagstaff scored 49.100 to be 17th in Level Six.

These results are not only a reward for the pupils but also for head coach Mike Abbott and coach Helen Wilkinson,

who dedicate many hours to the club.
