DAMON Reeve and Joe Fisher inspired Guiseley to a last-ball win over Follifoot in the Waddilove Cup and a place in the semi-finals.

It has been a difficult season so far for Guiseley, who find themselves propping up Division One of the Aire-Wharfe, and it looked as though there would be more disappointment when an unbeaten 66 from Josh Cutts steered Follifoot to 260-8.

Opener James Thistlethwaite gave Guiseley a solid start with a half century but at 97-4, it looked as though the task was too much for them.

But up stepped Reeve (98) and Fisher (68 not out), and with a fifth wicket stand of 158, the pair put their team within touching distance of victory.

There was another heart-stopping moment for Guiseley when they lost two wickets on 255, but they managed to cross the line with a boundary off the final ball.

They now face a semi-final clash with Horsforth, who ended the Division Two challenge of Tong Park Esholt, passing their 202 total with five wickets in hand.

Pool also made sure there would be no giant killing this year, seeing off the challenge of Collingham.

Cameron Duncan (49) was top scorer in Pool’s 191-9 and when Will Pallister removed the visitors’ two in-form talismen – Charlie Swallow and Toby Jacklin – for ducks on his way to 4-19, Collingham could only manage 143.

The last semi-final spot is filled by Otley, who are hot favourites to add to their record 13 cup wins after knocking out holders Beckwithshaw.

As so often this season, Beckwithshaw struggled with the bat, dismissed for just 154, and David Hester (48no) and James Davies (34no) eased Otley home in 22 overs.
