LEICESTER left back Connor Wood has become the first signing of the Michael Collins era at Valley Parade.

Wood, who turns 22 next month, joins the Bantams on a three-year deal.

A regular in Leicester’s under-23 team last season, the full back has a reputation for real pace and willingness to get forward.

He said: “I’m delighted now that it’s fallen into place. It’s a really exciting move for me.

“I’m not a left back that will just sit back. I’m one that will want to get involved in as many attacks as I can.

“Just hearing about the game plan and how they want to set the team up really suits how I play.

I love defending as much as attacking. But when I get the chance to go forward you’ll see me bombing up there.”
